Kristýna Venturová portfolio – czech artist & designer

After graduating from Václav Hollar Art School I enrolled at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague. I began to study at the Studio of Glass under the guidance of Professor Rony Plesl. During my studies, I took part in a student exchange program and visited Japan twice. First, I studied as a bachelor student at the Toyama City Institute of Glass Art and later, as a master student, I went to Kyoto and spent half of a year at the Kyoto University of Art & Design. Both visits deeply influenced me and Japanese culture became an important source of inspiration for my work.

Whether designing glassware or creating sculptures, I always think about the concept and the message I want to convey. I often let myself be inspired by the material itself and show its natural qualities. It is very important to me not only create pieces that can catch one’s attention but also pieces that will be remembered for a long time. Such pieces to which can one return again and again and they keep him curious.

Po absolvování Střední umělecké školy Václava Hollara jsem ve studium pokračovala pod vedením prof. Ronyho Plesla na Vysoké škole uměleckoprůmyslové v Praze v ateliéru skla . Během svého studia jsem absolvovala dvě zahraniční stáže v Japonsku. Nejprve v rámci bakalářského studia na Toyama City Institute of Glass Art, a poté jako navazující magistr na Kyoto University of Art&Desing. Obě tyto stáže mě velice ovlivnily a japonská kultura se pro mě stala dlouhodobým zdrojem inspirace v mé tvorbě.

Ať už navrhuji užitné sklo anebo vytvářím volné objekty, vždy je pro mě důležitá nosná myšlenka a hravost. S oblibou při navrhování vycházím z přirozených vlastností materiálů a snažím se je podtrhnout. Je pro mě důležité, aby věci, které vytvářím, uměly člověka svým provedením oslovit nejen na první pohled, ale především na ten druhý. Chci aby se k nim člověk rád vracel a nepřestávaly ho překvapovat.
