Praline

2015 | crystal glass, amber glass, poplar wood, mahogany | mold–blowing | 3×75×25cm (tray), 30×10×10cm (carafe), 5.5×11.5×11.5 (cups)

The tray with a set of glass cups and a carafe is inspired by an opened box of chocolates, where some pieces are already missing.
Like moving pralines in a bonbonnière – almost like playing chess – the cups and mahogany pralines can be rearranged freely on the tray to create new compositions. The brush set into a rabbet has no fixed meaning; its role is to provoke curiosity and invite dialogue. It could just as easily be replaced by a pearl, a single flower, or any other element, underscoring the open-ended and playful nature of the piece.
