about me

Má díla získala ocenění v Čechách i v Japonsku, mimo jiné stříbrnou medaili na International Beads Biennale v Hirošimě a ocenění Tokyo Metro Cultural Foundation.

I am a Czech glass artist based in Australia. After studying glass in Rony Plesl’s studio at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, I moved to Japan, where I completed my doctoral studies at Tokyo University of the Arts under the supervision of professor Nobuyuki Fujiwara. My work has received awards in both the Czech Republic and Japan, including the Silver Medal at the International Beads Biennale in Hiroshima and an award from the Tokyo Metro Cultural Foundation. During my studies in Japan, I developed my own technique that enables me to create sculptures from glass beads.

My practice is constantly evolving. While part of my work still exists at the intersection of design and Fine Art, my focus is on glass sculpture. I see my work as a continuation of the generation of Czech glass pioneers who liberated glass from its utilitarian function and established themselves internationally as sculptors: René Roubíček, Miluše Roubíčková, Stanislav Libenský, Jaroslava Brychtová, Václav Cígler, Marian Karel, and Vladimír Kopecký. Their work inspires my own artistic journey, whose goal is to create, through technological innovation, sculptures that have never existed before and thereby contribute to their legacy. As the rule of the “high game” says: “Either you create something new, or you disappear.”

My work is an homage to Marianne Aue.
